miniature This little museum is an interesting mean to spend a little afternoon. It gives a glimpse of japanese life with a real size reproduction of a little neighbourhood of the Edo period. The visit is interesting for the little details. It is nice to have the explaination by some of the guides. English explanation is avairable by a volunteer staff. You can rent an autoguide in Englsih, and the main brochures are in English. For those of you who have kids, you can give them in the street, a few staff are there to look after them and entertain them with some games and toys.

Osaka museum of living and housingOn the second floor of the museum you have a few miniature of the city over ages, with the explaination and illustration of the main characteristics of that period. It is all in Japanese, and there is only the view of miniature to entertain those who don't speak Japanese. There is a bit of a surprise for those brave enough to wait through the Japanese explainations.

Here is the website of the museum. It is extremly simple to go there: the museum is at the exit number 3 of the Tenjinbashisuji 6-chome station on the tanimachi or sakaiuji line. Right there you take the elevator to the 8th floor and you're in the museum.
