This time, I'm writing in Japanese because this is useful info.

今まで知りませんでしたが、一般の人を研修して文楽の道っていうのもあるんですね。研修は基本的に無料でしかも2年間も研修期間があります。全体のプロの方の46%を占めているので、基本からしっかりと学べるカリキュラムがあるようです。

この研修は、文楽の技芸員(大夫・三味線・人形)になるための基礎教育を行うことを目的とし、修了者は財団法人文楽協会に所属し、幹部技芸員に入門して舞台に出演することになります。

平成19年4月から平成21年3月まで(2年間)原則として月曜日から金曜日までの毎日午前10時30分から午後5時20分まで

研修内容

義太夫・三味線・人形実技・三曲(琴・胡弓・三味線)・地唄舞・作法

人形浄瑠璃史・上方文化史・院本講読・稽古見学・公演見学・舞台実習等

※受講料は無料です。研修開始後8ヶ月以内に適性審査を実施し、正式に合格者を決定した上で、専攻(大夫・三味線・人形)を決めることになります。

※適性審査に合格した者には、研修中、日本芸術文化振興会から伝統芸能伝承奨励費の貸与、並びに財団法人文楽協会から貸付金の制度があります。又、財団法人清栄会から奨学金の支給があります。

応募資格

中学校卒業以上の男子で、原則として年齢23歳以下の者。経験は問いません。

選考試験

試験内容

面接、作文と簡単な実技試験及び健康診断を行い選考します。

CAIS DO MAR

The CAPOEIRA school, CAIS DO MAR, based in Kyoto is organizing a capoeira baptism on 5th of November. The event will take place in the Minami Seishonen Katsudo Center. It will start at 10:30 and end around 17:00. An after party is planned from 18:30.
Capoeira is a great experience to live as a unique dancing and martial art combination. You can find all information about the event and the school here.

Here is a first glance at the work of a craftman we have been in touch with. We will provide more information as we are to meet him during an exhibition this week-end in Kyoto. This is for japanese readers only at the moment.

When you hear the word "Zen", it might sound difficult and not interesting.
However, this site explains Zen world in a funny and interesting way.

All the explaination is in English and you just need to click objects one by one.

From May 19th to October 8th, a garden in Kodaiji temple will be illuminated and have music concerts on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
The concert itself is free of charge but you need to pay admission fee to the place.

Orinasukan is a museum exhibits Nishijin-ori, Nishijin weaving and other woven clothes including Noh costumes.
obiAdmission fee is 500 yen and to experience weaving with craftman is 5,000 yen. You can have your original woven cloth.If you plan to stay in Kyoto, you would certainly enjoy a stay at "Orinasu Shukusyo: Orinasu inn" is 5 minutes walk from this museum. Orinasu Shukusyo has a kitchen and a neat wood bath tub. Enjoy staying at a nice Machiya!

If you want to get experience of dyeing clothes, Roketsuzome dyeing would be interesting for you.
Roketsu dyeing studio is the only place in Japan visitors can experience the entire roketsu process;
instruction by craftspeople with more than 50 years of experience;
make something to take home;
two hour sessions: 1500/cloth or 2500/T-shirt;
book at least 1 hour before your visit;

To have Japanese style room, it is very easy and nice to have a Japanese Paper Lamp.
"あかりデザイン工房", a Japanese craft lamp workshop makes nice lamps.
The lamps gives you warm feeling and makes you relaxed.

There is a machiya, old Japanese house, called "Shijo-Kyo machiya" which you can visit for free in Kyoto.
This machiya is kept by Kyoto city to show what is a machiya and hold some traditional event you can join for reasonable price.

Every Saturday, they hold a class to make "Bon", a Japanese plate with gold powder.
